Year By Year Accomplishments

 

2018

  • At the Zac Brown Band Castaway with Southern Ground event (2016-2018), Positive Legacy provided auction proceeds to Camp Southern Ground to support their mission: serving children ages 7-17 from all socioeconomic backgrounds, races and religions, with programs that challenge, educate, and inspire in a summer camp setting. This includes children of military families, children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), learning and attention issues such as ADHD and Dyslexia, and social or emotional challenges. 

  • Hosted over 100 volunteers at the Community Baboon Sanctuary in Belize to improve park facilities, and granted $15,000 to the Women’s Conservation Group to provide micro grant funding to entrepreneurs.

  • Teamed up with Conscious Alliance and Rex Foundation to prepare 2,264 meals for those in need in conjunction with the Dead & Co tour in Colorado.

  • Partnered with Norwegian Cruise Lines in a matching fundraiser to provide $40,000 to benefit All Hands Volunteers to rebuild schools in communities devastated by hurricanes Irma and Maria. 

  • $9,500 in grant funding along with hands on volunteer support to Central Vallarta for the construction of a medical clinic.

  • Brought over 200 volunteers to Chemuyil to clean up and setup a waste disposal system in the community.

  • In conjunction with Dreams for Mayan Children, Positive Legacy hosted over 300 volunteers to build facilities at Yucatan schools, including creating a soccer field, educational food garden and mural painting.

  • $10,000 to Hands Up for Haiti’s operating budget to serve over 50,000 Haitians who suffer from the highest rates of malnourishment, cervical cancer, and infant, under-five and maternal mortality in the Western hemisphere. 

  • Completed the Fuentes de Vida project in Veron, Dominican Republic serving 500 people with waste water disposal and potable drinking water.

2017

  • Supported Community Food Share of Boulder County through Action Days in conjunction with Dead & Co.

  • Partnered with Project WeHOPE to provide a more welcoming atmosphere for the unhoused clients residing in their Boston, MA shelter.

  • Worked with the Punta Cana Ecological Foundation and provided volunteers to beautify a community space and fix a black water system in Veron, Dominican Republic.

  • $15,000 to Trees, Water & People for Climate Smart Agriculture Program.

  • Provide resources to ​create​ ​an​ ​educational​ ​space​ for​ ​a community​ ​elementary​ ​school​ ​in​ ​Central​ ​Vallarta, Mexico.

  • Brought over 200 volunteers to Onda Encantada in southern Tulum, Mexico to improve school facilities.

  • Provided funding to the School of Life International Foundation and recruited 200 volunteers in Roatan, Honduras to utilize recycled materials to convert land into a Community Green Space with gardens, playground, composting, chicken coops and food spaces.

  • Provided funding to the Dreams for Mayan Children to implement music and computer programs in remote communities.

  • $10,000 to Hands Up for Haiti to support their clinic’s primary programs: Saving Mother and Baby, Fighting Malnutrition & Clean Water Project.

 

2016

  • $12,990 to Trees, Water & People for their Climate Smart Agriculture Program: educating rural farmers to increase long term sustainability in Cuba.

  • $15,433 to Oracabessa Foundation to implement education curriculum through BMX biking for at-risk children in Jamaica.

  • Worked with Hands Up for Haiti on facility improvements for the clinic which serves over 30,000 Haitians.

  • Implemented community garden education programs in Quintana Roo, Mexico to address urban food production issues.

  • $9,400 to Dreams for Mayan Children for school facility improvements in remote Mayan communities.

 

2015

  • $18,360 to Hands Up for Haiti to renovate the solar electric system at their clinic, providing electricity not only for the clinic but also staff lodging and surrounding communities.

  • $35,000 to The Payback to support their holistic system of care supporting homeless and at-risk families in California.

  • Partnered with Cool Anthropology Corp to educate and perform the Deer Dance, an important Mayan heritage practice that tells the story of the relationship between Maya people and the land.

2014

  • Fuentes de Vida – Punta Cana Ecological Foundation – Veron,Dominican Republic

    • Provides for construction of a natural wastewater treatment area for 500 individuals in Veron, Dominican Republic. 

  • Ras Astor Black Interactive Music and Arts Learning Institute – Falmouth, Jamaica 

    • Enabling the Institute to create a music and video production studio for the students to learn valuable skills to work in the entertainment industry. 

  • Casa Cultura – Puerto Morelos, Mexico 

    • Enabling expansion of this community center that offers workshops in art, music, theater, dance, yoga, and environmental stewardship through purchase of furnishings and equipment.

  • El Mundo Para Puerto Morelos (World for Puerto Morelos) – Puerto Morelos, Mexico

    • A local community support organization that works to support and improve the schools, medical clinics, and emergency services. Positive Legacy support will help to establish ambulance service in the village. 

  •  Jardin de Ninos Arte y Naturaleza Baaxal (Garden of Art and Nature Kindergarten) – Puerto Morelos, Mexico

    • Positive Legacy is supporting the tuition scholarship fund at a local preschool dedicated to providing children with a foundation in sociability, responsibility and creativity.

 

2013

  • Phoenix School (Now a Montessori Preschool) – Tulum, Mexico 

  • CommUnity In Action – Grand Turk, Turks & Caicos

  • Provided school supplies and laptop computers for participants  the young people of Grand Turk.

  • West Road Ball Park Restoration Project – Grand Turk, Turks & Caicos

  • JC11 passengers helped restore the park by planting trees, rebuilding damaged fencing and preparing an area for the installation of playground equipment.

  • Eliza Simons School – Grand Turk, Turks & Caicos

  • Donations of school supplies, laptop computers and soccer balls were made to students.

  • PACE Center for Girls of Broward – Ft. Lauderdale, FL

  • A variety of school supplies and 2 laptop computers were donated to the at-risk girls to support their educational pursuits in the JC11 home port of Ft. Lauderdale .

2012

  • Haiti Village Health –  Bod Me Limbe, Haiti

  • Positive Legacy was able to present Haiti Village Health with a grant that enabled them to finance the construction of a well, water reservoir and pump, plumbing for the new facility, staff and public toilets, and a new roof for the existing clinic in Bas Limbe.

  • FREEiRADIO 88.9FM Community Radio – Falmouth, Jamaica

  • Sustainable Organic Integrated Livelihoods (SOIL) – Northern Haiti

  • Jam Cruise passengers led the charge in seeding 6,000 citrus trees, thus launching a 10,000 seedling nursery at SOIL’s rural compost site in Limonade, Haiti.
