In 2017, Positive Legacy continued its support for a second year for the Bahamas Children’s Emergency Hostel thanks to funds raised on Holy Ship! The Hostel provides temporary accommodation, food, clothing, medical care and other necessities for the benefit of abandoned and neglected children – and our funds helped keep the Hostel operational with the timely influx of our support.

On Holy Ship! 9.0, we hosted our first ever Day of Service & Celebration at the Hostel. Together, we helped with work on the facilities grounds as well as spending some quality time playing with and entertaining the children living there. We sang songs and danced together, played with One World Play Soccer Balls we brought as gifts, served the kids lunch, and helped around the grounds cleaning up and with other lawn maintenance.

Our support has helped to provide much-needed provisions at the facility that houses approximately 35 children – leaving a positive legacy for the children of Nassau far beyond our visit!

In February 2016, Positive Legacy awarded Bahamas Children’s Emergency Hostel a $3835 grant.

Established in 1962, the Bahamas Children’s Emergency Hostel provides temporary accommodation, food, clothing, medical care and other necessities for the benefit of abandoned and neglected children, until more permanent arrangements can be made for their welfare. The facility houses children aged six weeks to eleven years with an average length of residency at the Hostel of one year.

This grant helped to support needed food, supplies and provisions at the facility that houses approximately 35 children – leaving a positive legacy for the children of Nassau far beyond our visit!
