Words cannot express how grateful we are to have received your donation of $4,324.00. Please excuse our delay in expressing our gratitude; due to the fact that we moved to a new office, and it took a little time for the post office to find us.
Your check could not have arrived at a better time. We recently lost a part of our funding and were going to have to suspend one of our music programs at Jose Marti Park that we have had since 2004, because we did not have enough to pay for our instructors. Your check will go directly towards that. Without knowing it, you saved a big part of our program in Little Havana; one of the poorest communities in Miami!!! We will be eternally thankful to your organization and will let the Parents/Children know about the Positive Legacy, kindness.
ACOP provides music instruction to underprivileged children in public schools, parks, and community centers to break the cycle of poverty and hopelessness that often leads to juvenile violence. This year-round program is designed to provide instruments and free lessons to underserved, at-risk children in Miami-Dade County, using music to improve individual achievement, social skills, parental involvement, and ultimately – children’s life.
Although the program is in the public schools & parks, it is privately funded and depends for survival on the cooperation of private benefactors and generous Foundations like Positive Legacy.
