HOLY SHIP! WRECKED

Here are some EASY and FUN ways to engage with Positive Legacy at Holy Ship! Wrecked:

Recycled Craft Activity - Tawashi Making | Event Day 2 | 1:30-2:30 PM | Positive Legacy HQ (Hacienda Lobby)

Come make a homemade “zero-waste” woven kitchen sponge using recycled materials! Originating in Japan, a tawashi is a scrubbing brush for wet cleaning traditionally made from the fibers of the windmill palm. Nowadays, tawashi includes any form of sponge used for rubbing and washing. This fun and free eco-friendly 'craftivity' is first come, first serve.

Day of Service | Event Day 3 | 12:30-2:00 PM | Convention Center

Food insecurity is devastating Mexico, and the pandemic has only exacerbated this inequity. The Mexican government does not provide assistance such as national unemployment benefits, so to say that our friends in the resort communities have been greatly affected by the pandemic is an understatement. We want to take this opportunity to support those who have been so good to us in our home away from home for all these years.

Join Positive Legacy, in partnership with Mike’s Amazing, in the morning or afternoon of Event Day 3 for a short 1.5-hour shift assembling food & supply boxes for families in need throughout Quintana Roo.

Online Auction closes Event Day 4 | 6:30 PM

Bid on autographed photos, concert tickets, and unique memorabilia from Closer to the Sun musicians during the online auction! Auction proceeds support Positive Legacy’s environmental and humanitarian projects.

HOLY SHIP! RECAP (2015 - 2019)

Positive Legacy first sailed on Holy Ship! in 2015. With the support of ShipFam, Positive Legacy has raised almost $100,000 for nonprofit organizations in need throughout the U.S. and the Caribbean!

Funds raised on HS have supported:

  • Ecoservices and La Fundación Ecoturismo Responsable, two organizations in the Dominican Republic that encourage a connection between local communities, waste management and tourism

  • Coral reef restoration throughout the Bahamas

  • All Hands and Hearts – Smart Response to rebuild schools in communities affected by hurricanes in the U.S. and Eastern Caribbean

  • Bahamas Childrens Emergency Hostel in Nassau, which provides temporary accommodation, food, clothing, medical care and other necessities to children in need

  • American Children’s Orchestras for Peace providing instruments and free lessons to at-risk children

  • Guitars Overs Guns (GOGO) who mentors at-risk youth in the Miami area through music education and performance

We’re extremely grateful for the growing support of the ShipFam community, and we’re incredibly honored to see returning faces who support us year after year, as well as meeting new faces who are excited to get involved. Thanks to everyone for learning to #GiveAShip over the past eleven sailings and for Leaving A Positive Legacy!
