Our mission and work began in 2004 as the greening program on board the maiden voyage of Cloud 9's Jam Cruise, an iconic music festival onboard a cruise ship. Through years of making impactful and more sustainable changes to the cruise industry practices, the concept of Positive Legacy was born: to integrate music and service to benefit people and the environment.

Working in conjunction with Cloud 9 Adventures, partner organizations and a collective of creative leaders, Positive Legacy coordinates environmental and humanitarian service projects fueled by the power of music. Together we create sustainable support through action from musicians and fans to transcend cultural boundaries and attend to the needs of the communities where music happens.

Day of Service

Every Cloud 9 Adventure offers the opportunity to do more than travel. Through Positive Legacy’s Day of Service program, guests and artists come together with local nonprofit partners to support meaningful environmental and humanitarian projects in the communities we visit.

From planting trees and restoring ecosystems to improving schools and community spaces, these experiences create lasting impacts while offering a deeper connection to local culture and the people who call these destinations home.

Sustainability Initiatives

Positive Legacy and Cloud 9 Adventures have partnered for years to help protect the places that make these experiences so special. Working alongside Trees, Water & People, we have:

• Planted more than 220,000 trees

• Built over 750 clean cookstoves

• Offset nearly 22,000 metric tons of CO₂

Together, we're helping preserve communities and ecosystems throughout Central America and the Caribbean.

There are countless ways to support Positive Legacy, both during and between adventures.

Nearly every dollar raised goes directly toward Positive Legacy's environmental and humanitarian initiatives, helping communities thrive long after the music ends.

The Impact We've Made Together

Since partnering with Cloud 9 Adventures, 3,700+ fans and artists have dedicated part of their vacation to giving back. Together, volunteers have contributed nearly 5,600 hours of service, helping to:

• Plant trees and gardens

• Beautify schools and public spaces

• Restore beaches and community areas

• Support local education and sustainability efforts

Where Your Support Goes

In 2026, Positive Legacy surpassed $1.5 million in community giving. Funds raised through Cloud 9 charity auctions, Days of Service, BINGO, charity bartending, and other fundraising activities are reinvested directly into projects that support people and the planet.
